Santhigiri Ashram

Santhigiri Ashram is located in Pothencode, Thiruvananthapuram District, Kerala.The ashram was founded by Navajyothi sree Karunakara Guru in 1964 and is recognized as a Social and Scientific Research Organization by the Government of India. Exhorting its followers to lead a life at peace with God and Nature, the ashram promotes transcendental spiritual values and secular ideals like universal love, world peace and religious harmony. The guiding principles of the ashram have been influenced profoundly by the teachings of great spiritual masters of the world, and without giving undue prominence to any particular religious tradition,the ashram attempts to unify humanity under an all-encompassing spiritual ideology. Her Holiness Sishyapoojitha Amritha JnanaThapaswini, the chosen disciple of Navajyothi sree Karunakara Guru, is the present spiritual head of the ashram.


The ashram is also home to the Lotus Parnasala, a lotus-shaped marble monument dedicated in memory of Navajyothi sree Karunakara Guru. Situated right in the middle of the serene atmosphere of Santhigiri Ashram's Spiritual Zone, the Lotus Parnasala has attracted tourists and pilgrims from around the world belonging to all religions.


This unique structure took 10 years for completion. It was inaugurated by the President of India Pratibha Devi Patil on 13 August 2010 and was opened for prayers and worship on 12 September 2010. Apart from its spiritual sanctity, The Lotus Parnasala of the Ashram has become a landmark of Trivandrum and is attracting lots of tourists.
